FrequentlyAsked Questions

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY DOULA?

Well, it really depends on what feels right for you. Everybody is different. Anisah has been booked as early as the day a mum found out she was pregnant. Anisah has also been booked while a mum was in labour - She generally doesn’t advise this as it’s good to build a relationship and rapport before the birth. In this case Anisah had done classes with her previously and they were comfortable with each other.

HOW MUCH IS A DOULA?

This also depends. If you take into account the value a doula can bring to your birth, postpartum and bonding experience there isn’t really a price tag for that. Additionally your doula would have undertaken many trainings, learning experiences and a lot of investment in her business to offer you the best possible service. That is also priceless! Anisah has taken NLP, spinning babies, breastfeeding, conferences, best practice trainings, certification and re-certification, naturopathy, nutrition and many other trainings to offer a full service to clients. For an experienced Doula you could expect to invest anything from £500-£5000 easily depending on the package. For inherent Birth prices, please refer to the services page here.

WHAT DO DOULAS DO?

The space to give yourself permission to enjoy your birth experience, without judgement or fear. A safe space to be completely vulnerable without being scared. Unwavering belief in you as a person and your ability to make autonomous decisions about your care and support while doing so. A voice to remind you of how absolutely amazing you are even at moments when you may be feeling weak. A reminder to begin with Bismillah, step forward with Subhanallah and end with Alhamdulillah for women of faith who this will bring comfort to.

Last but not least, submission so the process can flow. We offer this through Antenatal Education and Doula services, both live and virtual.
